I stopped by Country Boy Sports near Homer in NE Georgia yesterday and thought I would share my experiences. I was looking for ideas/options regarding an RRA rifle that I want to change around. I got there early and while talking to Kerry the owner about his ARs I mentioned the Slide Fire stock on an AR sitting on a display case and he said I could try it for $5. I asked could I have any fun for $5 and he said I can take all the ammo that I want and just pay for what I use. I ended up shooting 80 rounds of Tula outside the shop for $20.

Anyone in the area that is thinking of getting the stock should go try it there. He had about 20 of the new style stocks on the shelf. They have a web site for those interested.

We were alone when we started, he may not be as ready to demonstrate the stock if the store if full of customers.

I agree on the price to feed these things.

I told him that once they get something that looks good and works this good on a 10/22 or 15-22 then I'll have to have one. I did see YouTube videos of this on a 15-22 but I'm not sure if it is as fool proof in operation as it is with the heavier recoiling .223. I did plant the seed in his head so I bet he'll be trying it soon.

On a .22, it should be illegal! :rofl:That would be awesome. Not sure if it kicks hard enough to work.

While the stock is very cool,......a rubber band will get the same results.

I read about the rubber band trick yesterday and wanted to mention it but I wasn't sure if the rubber band was considered taboo here.

I'm going to try this the next time I get to shoot and see if I can get it to run with my .22 conversion bolt.

That's my main concern, it was fun to try but if I bought one I bet I would only use it once or twice, then think "well that was a very expensive couple of minutes" as I took it off and put it in the old parts box.

When did honesty become so taboo?

I think the name of the place and the town in which is is located says it all.

    Thanks for paintin' THAT picture!!!

I used to love to occasionally bump a few rounds, but I can barely afford one bang per pull now!

whenever i get the urge to waste money and ammo i drive an hour into pasadena and hit the pasadena gun center where i can rent an actual fully automatic weapon for like 25-30 bucks. after 2 mags i'm over it. so far the combined total spent on full auto fun has been about 90$ over the course of 15 years. i don't think i'll be dropping the cash on a slidefire anytime soon.

besides, even if i enjoyed full auto fire i know my luck, the day i boguht one the atf would deem them illegal without any sort of grandfather clause.
