Well, finally the weather cooperated and I got to head out to the gap.

I decided that I should try out my new trailer before I head to fl, so, I loaded up the 9er

You've got a lotta nerve posting those pics where a guy from Michigan can see them.....:wavey:

There won't be any riding here for about three months (or more).

    The BR parkway is awesome!

That might just be my favorite place to ride.

It's just a little too cold right now to be enjoyed.

A couple of months from now, I will be there.

Only problem with the Gap is that you can get center-punched by an idiot squid who had enough money to buy the fast bike but not enough skill to keep it in his lane. I have once rounded a curve and had such a squid pass me on the right as I had to tuck tighter left into his lane.

I enjoy the Cherahola more. Also Hwy 28 from the Gap towards Franklin, NC. Lots of other good roads up here that don't have the high density organ donor crowd that Deal's Gap does. Goes with the fame I guess.

This is the time of year to go. Maybe twenty cars all day, and the only bikes there were ours.

Cherohala (Cherokee - Nanahala) Skyway is probably the best road I've ever been on!

Just curious, Wb, how many miles did you ride this year?

I did over 18k this year, not including my off road miles with my klr.

    I guess sometimes I have to compromise.

wasn't trying to knock you, but I've only done a little over 4,000.... then again, it's only been 29 day's into this year. Last year, dunno, my speedo/tach were taken off the old bike... i'd guess 50k.

btw, they were both harley's and I don't own a car, truck or any other type of transportation. My wife owns a car, but that's hers and I just really don't ever ride in it. Maybe rode in it twice with her to the store last year. Maybe I'm nuts, it's pissin down cold rain here today, but that's what seperates guys like me from the squares.... I ride in any weather and black ice is just extra excitement to me.... plus, I love the snow. I can afford a car I reckon, just don't want one when my pig is all the transportation I really ever need.

    Jeezus- 50 K a year...that's ummm lemmee see....uh, like about a thousand miles a week?
Ok, sure...@ about50mph ( I'm guessing you're NOT doing it all on Interstates) that's gonna take you....ummmm let's see, carry the 1, divide by ummm whatever= 20 hours per week riding time....
It's NOT that I don't believe you, I've just never heard of H-D that would run that much!

Everywhere means everywhere. I can't be certain on the mileage of last year... my ironhead chop didn't have a speedo, it could have been 40, it could have been 60.... I just gauge it by what my brothers put on there bikes. Had to get rid of the ironhead though, cause it was real hard to get started in the winter months. My twin cam has been alot more reliable. I can ride now when others, even metric bikes, can't. It was around 20 degrees today when I went to hit that button. Fired right up. Gotta love fuel injection. Had to unfreeze my throttle though, but once that was taken care of, no worries. Makes me feel good to know that even though I was in 60mph wind squals last night, that my bike didnt care this morning, 30 degrees colder.

I would like to ride the dragon, but with so much great riding a little closer to home I have not made it over there yet.
