Twins game was rained out, so I watched StL and Milwaukee. Tim McCarver and Joe Buck were calling the game. Just when I thought McCarver couldn't be stupider, he blames climate change and it's "thinner air" for more homers being hit, THEN he actually tries to condescendingly school Joe Buck on his theory.
This guy gets the nipplehead of the year award.

He is partially correct. There is scientific proof that the ball travels further when the temperature is hot than when it is cool.

Google it, lots of data to support his claim.

I wouldn't dispute that the ball travels further in warmer temperatures, or even that a warmer ball jumps off the bat ever so slightly more.................but sportscasters have no business regurgitating the 'global warming' crap to their audiences.

Save it for the Sierra Club McCarver.

Yes, the ball does travel further when it's warm.
McCarver the Scientist's agenda fails to take into account that within the timespan of his observations athletes are bigger due to conditioning, weights, nutrition and steriods. He also fails to comprehend ambient temperature within domed ballparks.
In the last 50 years, temps in the United States have risen in the West and dropped in the East. We're talkin 1-2 degrees Celcius yearly averages. McCarver's talkin out of his butt.

Air density has an effect on every object flying through the air, but it has nothing to do with the global warming hoax.

    McCarver's a d-bag.

It's also the reason we see more black and Hispanic baseball players. They can handle the hotter temps better. (Remeber that gem from about a decade ago from a WS coach?).

I think his brain is still soaked from the dowsing that Deion Sanders gave him in the locker room after The Atlanta Braves clinched the pennant in 1992.
