Well it has certainly taken long enough, and I've done enough complaining over the past 8 weeks, but today the Glock fairy (Fedex) knocked on my door with a package. Inside was the latest rendition of the Gen4 G19 recoil spring assembly, labeled as 0-4-2. I'm not sure how this one is different from the 0-4-1, but in the pictures you can see it next to my 0-3 assembly which is the same as the 0-4 in terms of appearance. I just got finished shooting about 300 rounds through it so its a little dirty, but you get the idea.

With as many versions of G19 recoil springs as Glock has put out so far, they should probably just start printing everyone's serial number on them instead of continuing the 0-4-X numbering system.

0-3 on left, 0-4-2 on right

It's a Glock. They aren't supposed to be run wet.

Still waiting on my new spring for the Gen 4 M19.

So have they changed the rsa for the slides that have the recess? Or is it just for the ones without?
    Ie. Recess = 0-4
    No res = 0-4-1
or do they all take the 0-4-2 now?

It looks that now the front cap is going through the hole in the slide and that the recoil characteristics have been "optimized" due to the new short-spring long-spring lengths ratio.

It is strange this modification as the counter-bored slide was preventing the RSA to get stuck in there. Maybe it is just a commonality fix (works with counter-bored and with flat slides)

More hints: this new front-cap should help keeping the RSA axis aligned with the slide RSA axis.

It looks as if the new spring less one less coil on each end compared to the older spring.

yes, thanks to doug robinson in the CS department. i wish i would have spoken to him 8 weeks ago when i first requested a replacement spring. but hey, i wouldn't have the latest and greatest model if i got one 8 weeks ago. on the up side, i guess the 0-4-2 explains why glock didn't have any to send out for almost a whole month, they were waiting for an updated version from austria.

which picture did i post that shows a spot requiring lubrication? put a drop on the rails and on the trigger bar/connector friction point and you are good to go.

i don't think any g19's were release without a recess bevel. i'm not sure what the 3rd number in the designation represents. the 0-4 is the spring weight, i can't find any good pictures of an 0-4-1 to compare against the 0-4-2. to answer your question, all g19s will "take" any one of the versions that have been released.

All my 19's came with 0-3's. I swapped two of them with 0-4's.

I'd put a dab on the rod, spring sleeve, and surface that rub against each others. Don't mean to offend you.

Like your property. Wish I have a place to work reloads like that.

i wasn't offended, just didn't know where you were referring to that should have oil. i usually skip the barrel hood and lug.

wish i had some reloading equipment, i only shoot factory loads.
