New York's mayor and relatives of Virginia Tech massacre victims are releasing a new television ad next week urging the state to close a gun show loophole.
    Associated PressMayor Michael Bloomberg

The second anniversary of the shooting is next Thursday.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg will join victims' relatives in Arlington on Monday to release the ad.

It calls for Virginia to end a practice allowing what are called "occasional sellers" at gun shows to sell weapons without conducting background checks.

Can someone explain why the mayor of NYC feels like he needs to get involved? (other than he's a ******)

The Virginia Tech thing did not involve Gun Show guns, so why would they do this?

The "Gun Show Loophole" is a myth anyway.
  4. 2007 Stats.
New York CITY! had 494 Homicides, where as the whole state of Virginia had 406 in the whole state. Tell Bloomberg to go F himself.
  5. Bam! Bloomburg is a ******bag, rich city slicker that has no idea what crime is. He will never see it with his entourage around him.
  6. Too bad we can't sponsor ads urging New Yorkers to proclaim their independence and vote for pro-gun Mayors and aldermen who will allow the citizens of New York to defend themselves.
  7. He has a personal vendetta against VA gun shops, stating many of the 'street' guns in NYC came from there.
  8. I think we should paint some signs and picket.

I wonder if we could put this on a billboard someplace around New York.

  10. I'll chip in for it.

Maybe the VCDL should buy some billboard space that can be seen form Bloomberg's office or on his drive to work.

I would actually like to see him charged by the Feds for his involvement in the illegal "sting" operations he was a part of.

totally agree on this....Choi didn't go to a gunshow, but they are "spinning as Bill O'Reilly does" with the gun show loop hole.
