My daughter just signed with NC State so I guess I'll be taking the 5 hour drive a few times a year.

She's the oldest of 4 kids, we enjoy the outdoors, and have an RV.

What are the must see and do things around Raleigh?

Good restaurants? We love that show "Diners Drive Ins and Dives" and visiting little local restaurants.

Gun shows several times a year at the State Fair Grounds too.

I don't know if DD&D has been to Raleigh, but that dude Adam whatshisname from Man vs Food has been to Raleigh. A bunch of great bbq joints, a few nice museums, a couple of really nice malls. As far as eating, for steak and wine I recommend Angus Barn, on Hwy 70 by the airport. Nationally known for beef, world reknown for its wine selection. Sullivan's also good for steak. Frasier's near NCSU is great. Big Boss Brewery for beer, as well as The Flying Saucer. For local barbecue, The Pit (also near NCSU).
