I have always been amazed at the things I hear people say while im at the gun shop. If you have had a similar experience, please chime in.

    Starting with most recent:

    1. " anytime a person asks me about a good IWB holster, I know right then that they have never worn a IWB holster".

    2. "Those electronic earmuffs right there wont let in any noise higher than 86db, they cancel everything above 86."

Customer: "what about this here that says 27db noise reduction"

Clerk: "dont worry about that, its cancels everything above 86"

    3. "bullets come down twice as fast as they go up.. thats why shooting in the air is so dangerous"

    4. "its nearly impossible for a magazine to cause a feeding problem"

" I want the bullets that wound people for personal protection, I do not want to kill the bad guy, just wound him."

" Black talons were outlawed because they could shoot through the police department's bullet proof vests."

Crap, forgot one from a few months ago. I was checking out a Springfield SOCOM 16 and the counter guy tells me I do not want that, it is from WW2. He then pulls a Colt off the wall, the one with the Magpul furniture, and proceeds to tell me this is a "modern" rifle. I smiled.

Happened last night while buying some ammo.

Husband: "don't point that at me"
Wife: "why?" as she pulls the trigger "the guy behind the counter said it was unloaded!"
    She did this several times.

I once heard a LGS owner say something that made me cringe. He told somebody that when a CCW holder is armed and gets pulled over by L.E., they need to put all windows down and extend both arms out the window as far as they could.

I told that customer when walking out the door, he needs to check the CCW part on the Attorney Generals website. It clearly states to put down the windows and keep both hands on the steering wheel. Also to inform the LE you have a CCW and are you are armed as soon as they come up to you. Then ask for further instructions.

The sad part of it was months later I heard an LE say the same thing at the gun club. I didn’t want to start an argument with him because I do respect LE and what they do. However, I did really want to tell him it’s about following the Law, not mind reading. I chose to shut up and go back to target shooting.

I heard this at a LGS in ILLINOIS last month.

"Bro, do you sell any silencers that fit a Glock and a AK?"

The guy behind the counter, who is the stereotypical grouchy old guy at any LGS just walked away.

"They shoot straighter with the bayonet attached." It was some crappy MN and the counter guy let the idiot traipse through the store with a bayonet on his rifle. I asked the RM, "Range is only 25 yards...how straight does it have to be?"

Some know-it-all guy standing near a young woman looking at handguns.

I bought my G22 two weeks ago. When I showed it to my wife I made sure she saw me check magazine and chamber. She then held it casually pointed almost at me. I told her to never point it near a person and to always act like it was loaded. She then laughed and said "You told me it was empty!" She never got the point and will never be taught how to fire. You cannot fix stupid.

Pretty much any "one-thing-versus-another" subject is going to bring ignoramuses out of the woodwork.

    AR vs AK
    9mm vs .45
    Glock vs whatever
