I'm having a custom rig made for my AOW (8.5" 3+1 12ga.). if worn on the hip it should have the barrel of the gun end an inch or two above the knee. Wearing it to the range and/or while riding would probably scare the crap out of the general public. Other than a trench coat which would just make me look like a high school dork and I'm guessing would be dangerous to ride a motorcycle with....what are some ideas to conceal a thigh rig?

    Thanks

Because I can't think of any rational reason why you would choose that firearm as a CCW over a typical pistol.

If you are riding a motorcycle just get a bike gun rack...why the hell would you strap this to yourself?

    On the other hand:

Hmmm...if this guy can open carry a AR rifle...I am sure you can get away with a shotgun :)

    ...because I can.

I was only asking about how to conceal such a sheath if wearing it. Never said I planned to CCW the AOW other than going to/from the range.

Do you actually have any ideas on how to do it?

    :wow::rofl:

Notice how no one is anywhere remotely near that guy!! Usually the truck would be trying to drive up his tail pipe and the other vehicles would be cutting him off.

I have a thigh rig for my AR pistol. Whenever i wear it out, i just take a group of small children with me and make them walk in front of me obscuring peoples view of my legs. (also, can you say convenient human shield?)

Just because you can, doesn't mean it's wise to do so.
Nope, I don't, and won't waste energy trying to conceive of a way. Just put it in a saddle bag, and take it out when you get to the range.

Here you go EMT, not mine.

Have you thought about the "shoulder holster" that holds an aow shotgun and a large glock?

A long gun beats a handgun hands down. I don't know that I would want to tote that with me every day though. Not to mention here in Ohio, state law forbids carrying a NFA regulated weapon.

Keep in mind that you may face a prosecutor in court that will try to hang you on the Rambo card if you would ever have to use it. So prepare a good defense for yourself before hand. If it's legal to carry it in your state with your CHL, I say go for it.

Similar law here in PA. Illegal to carry a long gun in a vehicle. An AOW is not a long gun. ;)

Prosecutor is close friend of the family. Doesn't matter though as I'm not planning on doing anything illegal.

I appreciate the support. Getting back to the OP, it seems to be futile. I mean really...what else, in all seriousness, could you wear aside from a long coat that would conceal a thigh rig??

    Thanks
