    I decided to post this because of some of the things I read or heard concerning the 45 GAP. Most of what I hear is false and I have to admit, I believed most of it myself. The first thing I want to say is the ammo for it is available. I hear constantly how hard it is to find, no one carries it, it is expensive, etc. A funny thing happened, I did an on line search and found it instantly. The next thing I did was call a few gun shops in my area. Two of the three stocked it on a regular basis, at a reasonable price. Who knows :dunno:, I guess there is a chance that I just keep getting lucky. Or maybe our state police switching to the G 37 may have helped, but, I also find it on line pretty easily as well.

    There are other things I hear that are false as well. But, I think the availability is the concern that drives most people away. If you like polymer framed handguns that are .45 cal, favor the Glock design, don't have hands that can palm a large pumpkin; the GAP is worth a look. Just wanted to give my 2 cents for what it's worth. Frank.

    Just wait, someone will be along shortly to tell you that you`re an idiot for liking the GAP as it`s a solution.......................blah, blah, blah. SOS different thread. :supergrin:

    I`ve had a G38 for years and once owned a G39. Wonderful gun & ctg. Glad you decided to be objective and skip the BS from the keyboard commandos.

    That's great for your area. Not mine. "Truth" will vary geographically. Online prices don't match my FTF deals and show prices on .45acp. And, I reload so paying for GAP brass can't match the free brass I pickup at the range. But, that's me, my "truth", and why I choose .45acp. The GAP is a great load. But, it's not mainstream. The .45acp is a great load and mainstream. Consideration done. Happy shooting.

    Still looking for in stock 50 round boxes of GAP Gold Dots, HSTs, or Rangers (that aren't $50 per box). If you know of any please let us know.

    Ok, what price was it?

    If you can go non-Glock your options for ACP increase exponentially. S&W, H&K, Kahr, Springfield, etc. With grips that don't require gorilla hands either.

    Some ammo is available and at decent prices but top of the line SD ammo is hard to come by or very pricey.

    Show me where to buy 230 grain HST, 230 grain Winchester Ranger, 230 grain Remington golden saber or 200 grain GD's that are not a buck a shot.

    When I stumbled across a private seller selling 500 rounds of 45 Gap Winchester Ranger I felt like I had won the lottery, Will try to spread those out for a long time, especially when I may never find it again.

    I can find 230 gr. Ranger T's for $33.99 box/50. Those in smaller market areas may have to go online for the GAP - but it can be found. More expensive than 45 ACP? Generally so; but I like trying out a modern, and interesting, cartridge. Life isn't all about saving money. Cheers

    I live between Tampa and Orlando and Ranger's can't be found anywhere on any shelves.

    Again where can SD 230 HST, Ranger, golden saber be found on line? I know plinker bullets can be had, at least for now.

    Can't beat $14.99 for a box of 50 .45acp at the local Walmart around me. Never seen GAP rounds, ever, on their shelves. That's just around me. I was looking into the GAP before getting my 21sf and 30sf.

    You get good prices on ACP then. $18 around here for ACP at my Wally. Only a few $$ less than GAP ammo around here.

    You can order it. Anything up on the website is available to everybody. You would have to be LE for him to place an order with Winchester for you.

    GAP is all marketing, trying to convince people they "need" it because 45 ACP guns are too big. It's nonsense and alot of folks fall for it, ACP has been doing it's job for a century.
