I have conversion barrels for my Glock 23/27 and Sig P220. I have good fundamentals but I also want to shoot the 22LR ammunition, for cost purposes until i start reloading. How should I incorporate it into my training without sacrificing my abilities for the self defense loads?

The .22 conversion unit atop your fighting pistol's frame with the very trigger you'll be pulling for real if you need to, gives you relevant training right up until the recoil starts. Draw to the shot...picking up dropped gun and firing...clearing a jam and firing...etc., are all the same. Not until you get to the followup shot(s) does the mild recoil of the .22 conversion unit dilute the training experience.
