We went through this crap back in 2007-2008. Generally speaking, the general population blamed farming and agriculture for the price increase, but I thought I'd get ahead of it this time.

It's fuel. The price of gas in many areas is approaching $5, and the price of diesel is matching in lock step. Transportation costs drove the price increases last time, and it's going to happen again.

    You heard it here first…...:whistling:

    Too damned early, too, IMHO.

But I can nearly promise you that next September, NBC, CBS, ABC, or whoever will be attempting to say that your next bag of Doritos will cost 10% more because of the price of corn, or that Big Mac that you picked up on the way home cost you just a little more because of the price of beef.

It's kinda funny….many folks couldn't be convinced a few years ago……it HAD to be the evil, greedy farmers. Maybe a few folks out there have wised up a little.

If we could only get (ALL) of the idiots to stop turning FOOD into ethanol, (corn, primarily) thus driving up the costs of FOOD, as well as using tax dollars to subsidize the ethanol industry.

I have seen the cost of some food items I used to be able to afford, go up by 50%, in the last 3 years.

The ethanol industry, is a great, and preventable, cause for the rise in food costs.

In my state, ALL gasoline has 10% ethanol in it.

Some....idiots... are even proposing requiring 20% ethanol.

So far, the bills have been defeated, but the lobbyists for the corn and ethanol industry are just licking their lips, at the thought of even MORE subsidies for ethanol, and the price of corn going up yet again, as more FOOD, for both people and animals, are diverted to make ethanol.

Chinese came and bought up a large percentage of our beef and pork already, the Japanese and Koreas are buying up a major MAJOR share of our pork, specifically bellies. There may be a time this summer where even bacon will be difficult to find. Not kidding.

I only have myself to buy for and don't pay much attention to food costs, but even I see how much the prices have gone up.

Last year's drought hasn't caught up with us yet.

Friends have horses. Hay is so expensive and in short supply that some of them are driving out of state to buy it.

Friends that put in crops got almost nothing last Summer.

It's not just fuel. It's called inflation.

It's that damn Cow Union! The International Brotherhood of Bovine Workers is going to be the death of us all! IT IS UDDERLY RIDICULOUS.

My Mother hates Glen Beck with a fiery passion, but even she has said remember when Beck said if you find a pair of shoes you like and that fit well to get 2 or 3 pairs now because they will be higher later. Glen called a lot of what is happening now.

Fixed the title for ya!

btw- The word recession has again been bantered around by the mass media outlets recently. Don't fall for it. The correct term for our economy's woes is INFLATION, and it's going to be HYPER-INFLATION soon.

Blame our "quantitative easing" thanks to the global bankers and our illegal federal reserve system.
