So here's a question, it may have been asked before but I would like to gather fresh opinions. If you could only have one 1911 (GASP!!) and I mean the ultimate 1911 in your opinion, what would it be? I mean one!! This is all a means to an end. Whatever seems to be the most popular pistol mentioned may become my newest acquisition if I agree. Even if I don't, I value the opinion of the members of this forum and want to see what the general consensus may be. Factory, semi-custom, custom. You name it.

If price no odject, get yourself a full custom build from one of the best.

The semi-custom guns are great, but for the one and only, get something special.

I'm thinking it will end up being a full custom and right now I'm leaning towards the Gemini Customs/Wicked Grips build but it's not firm.

I got to shoot a Gemini full custom with blue wicked grips with a silver dragon in them. If I had the cash, one would be mine !!!!! Place your order now, you will love it !

Marc at Gemini builds a great 1911. I spoke to him a couple times, but haven't "pulled the trigger" yet.

If I ever buy another $5000+ custom, it will be from Marc.

Another thought would be to look for a Valtro 1998A1. They're awesome pistols and will continue to appreciate in value.

Finding one is the hard part, but once you do, you'll have a rare piece of exotic art.

That's actually a big vote of confidence bac. Hopefully Santa is good to me this year and I can get this build going if it's where I decide to lay down the coin.

I think a full build from him is about $6K give or take, depending on options.

It would probably be my RRA LM. I've never been able to decide on a true custom 1911 that I like best, maybe a Liebenberg. :dunno:
