My local shop got the first few in yesterday. I just left there after handling all three. Two had the Bo-mar style target sight and the other has adjustable Novak style sights. I'm not in buying mode right now, but I asked them to hold one of the Bo-mar models for me. Its serial #54.

They're beautiful, in my opinion. I love the flush barrel, roll marks, grips, finish, checkering, and, most importantly, the quality and fit and finish. The thumb safety feels great, the slide to frame fit and barrel lockup is tight. Hell, I even like the two piece guide rod.

These are clean, classy looking guns and without shooting one, I will say quality seems outstanding. They're right in the TRP's price range and, in my opinion, quality and fitting is at least as good and they look a whole lot better.

I won't know until I pick it up and get it to the range, but I really feel we have a winner here.

Those do look nice, haven't seen one in person yet, but I'll take your word for them living up to the website.

    Thanks Jeff.

As with many guns, they look even better in person. The black finish is even and very well done.

I was thinking as getting the combat sight model, but I like them better fixed than adjustable. Even though I own a few 1911s with them, but I feel the adjustable combat sights are goofy. I'd rather just have target sights.

Its going to be a range gun anyway.

Nick, they're in the case for $1499, though they did knock a few bucks off for me. Not much though, as dealer cost isn't far from MSRP of $1599.

If they shoot well, which I'm sure they will, they're worth the price. The black TRPs are basically going for that now and its nicer than my TRP.

Wow, nicer than a TRP. That's pretty high praise for that price range.

I can't say for sure, since I didn't shoot one yet.

However, its fit just as well and it looks much better, in my opinion. The Ithaca is a much more classy 1911 and that's important to me. I love the clean look.

Its one of the cleanest 1911s in its price range, along with the Valor. However, I like the fact that its carbon steel and not painted stainless like the black Valor. I much prefer carbon steel 1911s.

Not sure. As I've said, I'm trying to slow down my spending this year. It won't be too long, I guess. Maybe next month.

Yeah, its not exactly cheap, but its still low to mid range as far as 1911s are concerned.

It's a great looking gun, I would like to see a GS with a memory pad at that price, but that's not a big deal.

No cardboard box, but you can get a nifty briefcase.

I want to swing by Ithaca sometime this summer and take a tour. It's 45 min from here.

The Ithaca looks squared up under the trigger guard nicely, which is a big plus over the TRP for me.

That triggerguard undercut looks a lot like a Baer. I like it. Hmm, 22lpi, a new figger to wrestle with...

Nice, I look forward to seeing one on your carpet and reading your range report. I'd love an Ithaca 1911 but I need to try and find one from Ithaca NY for sentimental value.
