There is nothing wrong with it. It was ejectioning the brass over the partition and hitting the guy shooting next to me. I'm used to shooting Gen3 guns. I like the feel of the Gen3 better. I will probably be selling it.

Put the medium backstap on it. Shame though, I would buy it if I didn't have 2 already.

My advice would be not to sell it yet. Shoot it a little more and determine whether you really don't like the gun or if you're just going through a spell of buyer's remorse. And yes, put the medium backstrap on if you haven't already. I'm not sure why you wouldn't prefer the Gen 4 if yours if functioning properly. The improved grip makes it easier to hold onto and control and the dual recoil spring should slightly reduce muzzle flip, also making it easier to shoot.

I do have the medium back strap on it. My hands are very small. I thought it was going to be perfect for me without any back strap. I shot 100 rounds and it was jumping all around in my hands. I put the medium back strap on it and shot 200 more rounds. It's under control now, but my fingers don't sit right. It's hard to explain, but the Gen3 my fingers just sit in the right places. Plus I don't like the texture on the grip.

    Wow, sorry to hear.

Usually, I hear functional problems with the Gen 4s. I thought the rest was an improvement over the Gen 3s.

That's been my take as well.

    Sorry to hear that.
    I always say rent first.
But I've got a Gen 3 G27 and am not sure I wouldn't just buy a gen 4 without renting too.
Ergonomics are a funny and unique thing.
My gen 3 G27 feels like a brick just holding her.
But she shoots perfect and feels perfect to hold while firing.
I'm sticking with my gen 3 G27 Glock wise.
I understand the idea of replaceable grip panels.
But really want the gun to fit right with the standard panels.
My HK P30 has LG/MD/SM back and side panels.
But it fits like a glove and shoots near match accurate NIB.
I don't even want to screw with the panels.
She stays as she is - nothing but sweet.

I hope you get things sorted out.
I do use a Pachmayr Tactical Grip Glove on my G27 and love it.
That might be an option for you?

It's odd though you feel a difference since the M back strap makes it the same dimensions as a gen 3.

Made a good deal today. Got a Gen3 G22 serial# HKT + cash for my Gen4 G22. It looks great. The pins looked perfect, so I don't think it's ever been detail stripped.
I gave it the 25 cent trigger job. Next is to go shoot it this weekend.

Thanks! I really like me Gen3 G35. Plus my buddy/next door neighbor has a Gen3 G22. I've shot it plenty of times. I'm sure I will be happy with it.

I'm starting to feel that way too. The Gen 2 without the finger grooves and MIM parts are more desirable to me.
