The Malmedy Massacre WW II

Discussion in 'Veteran's Forum' started by GreenBeret1631, Nov 24, 2006.

  1. Here is a link to an interesting article on The Malmedy Massacre, which occured during the "Battle of the Bulge" in WW II.

This article projects some different ponits of view on this incident, that gives one pause to wonder about the incident and war crimes in general.

I have always thought that, "Only the war's losers, are tried for war crimes."

    Actor Charles Durning:

He was taken prisoner during the Battle of the Bulge, and was one of the few survivors of the infamous Malmedy massacre of American POWs, perpetrated by a battlegroup under Joachim Peiper of the 1st SS Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler. "He escaped with two others, and returned to find the remainder murdered.[1]

Too bad Peiper and his band of Nazi thugs weren't rounded up and shot for the killing of our men!
