I bought my first handgun in 2003, a Beretta 92FS, I remember buying Blazer aluminum for $3.99/50 box on sale.

I used to shoot a lot more than I do now.

Will be very interesting to see where ammo prices land (9mm specifically) as supplies begin to show back up. Depending on the ammo, you could find 1000 rounds shipped in the $219 range a couple months ago. I wonder what the new standard for a case of 9mm will be? I'm thinking $300 for the cheapest but I hope I'm wrong. If there are any dealers here, has there been any indication that resupplies are on the way? Ammo is getting made in every corner of the globe it seems now- just do a search on some of these brands.

    it's easy and fun!

I've got $280 or so invested and can pump out 45acp for 11 cents a round. I started with a Lee so-called progressive and trurned it into a basic turret press.

I think I'm going to have to sell drugs to afford ammo.

It's only a matter of time before WalMart stops selling ammunition. There might be some new "sin taxes" on ammunition in our future too.

If you are not reloading, then you might as well sell all of your guns and take up golf because you are not in the game.

Things will settle down eventually. I don't see ammo prices staying this high. Over saturation will occur eventually.

  16. I have a case of 1,000 rounds 9mm value packs that I bought for $99 and use it as a door stopper. It is reminding me of the trend, I do not expect prices to drop dramatically. I also remember bying the value packs for $7.97 and 550 rounds of .22 l.r. for the same amount.

I have compared ammo prices between Germany and the U.S. for years and have always found ammo to be much cheaper in the States. That has changed in the last years and is reversed now.

The strangest thing is, that the bulk of cheaper ammo for sale in Germany is made in America and is still offered at cheaper prices. 1,000 rounds of Federal Target cost €36, that is $48 and includes 19% V.A.T. Supplies are plentiful. It's even stranger when you look at prices for Californian wine in Germany, the bottles start clearly under €3.00 and have a hard time to compete with Chilean and Spanish wines that sell for under €2. I think we are getting creamed here.

We are living in sad times!

I think Walmart will one of the few places remaing to get ammo once they outlaw internet sales.

With the ROI you can get based on today's ammo prices, I'm considering reloading.

But aren't component prices going up as well?
