I am happy with the way this turned out. It is my new desktop background. I didn't edit it in any way.

    I see it. Beautiful!

I saw a shot once of a bowling ball on fire. It was really neat and I have since been looking for a super-cheap bowling ball to torch

If you douse a regular bowling ball with a 99% alcohol and set it on fire for just a moment, it shouldn't damage it (evaporation, low burning temperature, etc.), and it should be easy to extinguish. It would be even better if you could wet just the top half of the sphere. :)

Set it on fire in the middle of a bowling alley. Might attract some interesting situations when a flaming bowl is rolling down the lane. More opportunities to shoot pictures of people's reactions. ;)

Great idea hwyhobo has - just remember to use a slower shutter speed... ;)

Find someone who bowls a lot. They go through balls quickly. I have gotten some recently that I plan to shoot.

I never thought about photgraphing a campfire. Neat!

I wonder how fast your shutter speed can go and still get a good exposure if the fire is the only light?
