What is a good SD round for many different barrel sizes? I plan on getting a G22,23, I have a 27, and then an PM40.

I'd personally go with a 155 grain JHP at a nominal velocity of 1200 feet per second, or a 165 grain at around 1140 fps.

If you prefer a 180 grain subsonic (many do, perceiving lighter recoil) best bet is a high tech hollow point (Gold Dot, Ranger, HST, etc.) engineered to open from shorter barrels at lower velocities.

    best,
    Mas

Thanks Mas! I will go with the 165 then because matching practice ammo will be easier to find.

I just got finished with In The Gravest Extreme. I love the common sense approach to keep out of trouble while carrying. My favorite chapter was the one where you responded to the 2 officers that called you out about throwing the punks some money. These are good ways to keep the negative light off of gun owners.
