  1. Hello everyone. I'm 19 years old and seriously considering joining the military when I'm done with my tech. school next year. I come from a military family with numerous veterans of both war and peacetime service. One grandfather served in the Navy in WWII and the other served in Army infantry in Korea. Fortunately both are still around. Anyway I wanted to say to all veterans, of all services, during all periods:THANK YOU!!!! Just wanted you to know that not all young people my age in MA are a bunch of drug-popping, Bush-hating, protesting liberal cry-babies, although I know plenty! Again thank you for your service, it inspires me to serve as well.

If you have any questions regarding joining the military, go check out US Paratroopers. They have a section specifically for recruits.

There a bunch of good people around, they just don't get near as much air time. Allot of the good ones are in the Sandbox!

Just wanted you to know that if you're the opposite of the above you're in fine company and welcome anytime. Sounds like you've got your head screwed on right so pursue your dreams, be your own person and don't ever apologize for for not fitting in with the crowd you describe. And there's nothing wrong at all with keeping a family lineage of service to the country alive. Best of luck to you.
