LGS has a new Gen 3 20SF (UUV prefix, I believe) in stock for 575 otd.

Figuring in tax, it comes out to what amounts to 538.65 + tax.

    Factors:

    1. White label (Glock part # PF2050101 - 10 round mags). Bummer, because I live in a free state.

    2. Already own a beautifully set up G29SF w/NS. I also have a ported, extended LW barrel (around 4.8" I believe). With 15 round mags and A&G extensions, for all practical purposes, it pretty much is a shortened G20SF.

    3. Also own a Gen4 G21. Buy a conversion barrel, and I am pretty much set (for the range anyway).

    Why do I want a G20SF?

    1. The G29SF is great for carry, but my Gen4 G21 fits my hand like a glove. Sure, I could drop in a conversion barrel, but that would be a range-only setup (I don't carry conversions for defense).

    2. Extra velocity.

    3. Full sized grip.

    4. I don't particularly wish to buy a used G20, as you never know what sort of handloads someone has been running through it. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I do believe this is a very real concern with a 10mm.

The only real bummer is the 10 round mags. I have regular capacity mags for it, but buying any 15-round Glock with 10-rounders is kinda... blah.

I haven't bought a new Glock in quite some time. Is 575 otd a decent price for the large frame Glocks?

I do see them listed elsewhere online, but usually not in stock, and if you figure in shipping, FFL ($20), etc, it's typically pretty close.

And with all factors considered, is my money better spent elsewhere? Like, for instance, Underwood ammo?

Pretty torn on this one... Thoughts?

    Price aside I carry my 20sf daily. I also have a g4 21 and just picked up a g4 20.

So, compare the feel to your g421....if it were me I'd pass and get a gen4 as I much prefer the grip.

Listen to the voices. I can't find a G29SF anywhere. But I'm still looking.

If you really like the way your Gen4 G-21 feels in your hand, hold off and get a Gen4 G-20.

While the Gen3 SF is better than the std. frame, the Gen4 feels better to me.

Take your (empty) Gen4 G-21 into the shop and hold them both and see if one is better for you.

I'm on the same road going in the other direction - I just picked up a Gen4 G-20, and now want a Gen4 G-21.

    Good luck,
    Bob S.

    Both excellent points.

Will check them out side by side. As tempted as I am, I may do exactly as you suggested, and hold out for the Gen4.

Whichever I pick up, pictures will be posted, lol.

don't be trying to justify it on a forum, go out and get it so you can have bragging rights instead.

I took the plunge late last summer after years of shooting the 10 in another platform. I really like the SF. It is bulkier in the grip, obviously, than my G-22 but somehow not in a negative way.

They aren't hardly going to get much cheaper than that price. Better to say "I'm glad I did" than to say "I wish I had"

My Glock 20SF is my favorite Glock. Made the way a 10mm should be made, like a tank.

My G20 SF is one of my favorite guns. 10mm is a surprisingly accurate cartridge, and the large frame Glocks soak up a lot of recoil.
I imagine if you buy it, you'll really like it.

On the down side, if you buy one, there is a strong possibility that you'll start looking for a G29.

Actually, he said he already owns a G29.
I was forced to make a quick decision between the G20SF and the G29SF. I went with the G20 and now wish I had a 29 also. I wish I had bought both when I had the chance last year. Now I'm having a hard time finding a G29SF.

Curious, how much smaller is the grip than a Gen 3 G20?
