For all of those that have a G-23, let's hear about your pistol, modifications, shooting experiences, holsters, and any pics you might have.

I have a new G-23 with 3 hi-cap mags. I have a fobus paddle holster and mag carrier. I use 165gr RangerT. I'm adding a steel front sight, NY-1 trigger spring, and a smooth trigger bar.

    Thanks,

    Don

My first Glock 23 is almost 16 years old. I bought it new in 1991. Everytime I have pulled the trigger it went BANG!

Not much to say other than it's never given me a minute's trouble, except when I reassembled it wrong the first time I stripped the lower down to really clean it (last year....). The first 9 years I owned it I never stripped the upper down, basically I just cleaned the exterior surfaces and the barrel.

I've had mine right at five years. It's been dropped on concrete several times, kicked across gravel (all accidents mind you) and I've had the slide refinished several times. It's more accurate now than it's ever been.

It wears Ameriglo Operator night sights and a Hogue handall grip. Occasionally I'll use my 22lb spring and stainless steel guide rod. I have a factory 357 SIG barrel for it, a 9mm conversion barrel for it, and a .40 cal BarSto barrel as well, but for carrying, it's stock setup for me.

Oh, and 165gr Rangers are about as good as it gets!

I bought my first one back in August of 1999. It's the 3rd Gen in my sig line. I have it set up with a smooth trigger, 3.5 lb connector and a NY-1 spring. I like this set up because the NY-1 is a more durable spring and the reset is faster. FYI all four of my Glocks are set up this way. I like to run 180's through them because I tend to shoot this load better than others, though I am prone to experimenting with other weights. Presently I am running Speer Gold Dot 180 grain jhp slugs for defense.

My first G-23 is also sporting Heinie Slant Pro Straight Eight night sights. I like these a lot. I think the target acquisition is a little faster than the three dot systems. Eventually all my Glocks will have these sights.

I love both my G23's. I'll probably pick up another 3rd Gen version when finances allow it. I find that they do have that great niche of not being too big or too small, with more than adequate fire power. They are probably one of my all time favorite carry guns. My first one has the highest round count and has been through some excellent training. It keeps shooting better and better.

Really hard to go wrong with this model.

    Best,
    Dave

Great posts! The 23 is my favorite GLOCK!

My 23 is set up with a 3.5# connector & NY-1 trigger spring; extended slide stop and a 20/21 magazine catch. I have Warren Tactical Carry sights installed. I use the 23 along with my 19 for IDPA, but the 23 is my primary CCW. I have a factory GLOCK 357 barrel and love the 357/40 combo; 2 guns in one!

Just picked up a brand new in the box "Gunny" GLOCK 23...5lb trigger and standard sights...buddy had it as a back up in his gun safe and needed money for a G22 so...offerred me a killer price so I could not say "No."...I had recently sold off my G27 to a new officer that did not have anything for off duty and found myself missing a .40S&W...this one looks sweet and my first GLOCK with the shinier finish and newer cas instead of the duller gray and Tupperware box...

My first autoloader was a Glock 23, back before the FG&R days. BAP764 Only time I ever made payments on a gun. I kB!d that one the very first time I reloaded (yes, reloader error) - I had to replace the barrel and some other small parts. I put a lot of work on that old horse over the next few years. I eventually traded it for a FG&R model, and I worked that one pretty good too, then it got traded for a G35, which got traded in a few years later for my current G35.

I still get nostalgic when fondling a G23. They feel wonderful in the hand. I'd buy another 23, if I thought I'd carry it or shoot it.

Do you have a CCW pistol other than the G-35?

I now have 3 G-23s. Bought the first one in 1992. Have Novak sights with white dot front sights on all 3 of them. Wolff guide rod and spring, 3.5# connectors. No kb's, they all go bang flawlessly and are very accurate. (Pretty boring huh?)
