Taurus heavy 8-shooter

Discussion in 'Band of Glockers' started by antediluvianist, Sep 19, 2004.

  1. Do any of you BOGS out there own a Taurus model 608 revolver? It's an 8-shooter, .357/.38, and the 4 inch version weighs 44 ounces empty which I like (heavy). The 6 incher weighs even more. At Trust Trade, less than P30,000.

Speedloaders are available for it locally so that's OK.

Anybody owns one or has fired one or knows of any stories about it?

It handles well. I tried it in Western Manila Shooters Gun Club in Alhambra Street near U.N. Avenue. I still prefer the trigger pull on the S&W 686 (that you already have) and the Ruger GP100. Accuracy on this model is reasonable. The rental gun that i tried is already a bit "kalugin." As for the recoil, since it is a big gun, its just fun, I mean Ok lang.

  3. Ante - you'll be better with Ruger's GP100. Shot that Taurus 8-shooter and carefully inspected the craftmanship, CHEAP that's it.You'll not be satisfied, might end up getting another wheeler.Dan Wesson at PB Dionisio is another good candidate.;)
