I'd love to know how much something like that goes for!! Just to own one I think it'd make my bucket list.

Again, just wanted to share. :)

I'm still trying to figure out how he got a plate for that. I can't see how its street legal.

Reminds me of crazy John Dupont who use to drive around his mansion in a Sherman tank

I am sure it will freak out to the deputies with the .30 caliber machine gun. LOL! Maybe it's time for the deputies to swap their .40 S&W to 10mm.

True...how do you get TANK inspected?? I'm wondering if they just took a plate and slapped it on? I mean unless it was ran for some reason no one would ever know. What would it come back as....Tank??

He said it has a Rolls Royce engine in it I think so again...how much does something like that go for and where do you buy them??

    Thanks

I've seem a few of them around. They are basically an armed and armored car. I have wanted one for years, but I see absolutely noing practical about them.

    Not a tank. It's a scout car.

Yeah definitely not a tank but it's cool. FWIW those guys that do storm chasing have vehicles that are completely armored and so do Wells Fargo delivery trucks. So long as it is on an approved and licensed chassis there shouldn't be much of an issue... now insurance is a completely different beast to tackle....

Not really. A few companies have a category for irregular or collectable vehicles.

Old military vehicles, show cars Etc.

I too would love to own one, or maybe just rent one for a day. Their was one for sale a couple of years ago in st louis, I think they wanted 30k or something like that. It looked nice and I drooled online over it, if I would have won the lottery I would have been all over it.

I was going to post this earlier. I've been watching it for about half a year now to see if it moves. I jokingly told my wife that if we got any inheritance in the next few years and it was still around I'd snatch it up and put it in those military history demos around town.

The funny thing was... she said "okay." :faint:

That's freaky!! I just had the EXACT same convo with my wife tonight! Well except for the history demo part.

Mine would be all business. I'd outfit it with run flats, a place to put a working gun, O2 supply on the interior, etc. No clue when I'd use it or what I'd use it for but then again I suppose the same could be said for my collection.

Just the ability to roll up to work in it would be priceless!

But yeah, in reality, even this thing in all it's glory and capability is not enough to make me sell even part of my collection.

Inheritance or lottery is the only way it's happening and I don't play the lottery.

Aside from owning a functioning RPG/Grenade...a tank (even a scout car) is the only item on my list that is unobtainable...for now.

A .50 cal would easily take it out. Not a tank. And because its British it breaks down all the time and leaks oil like the Exxon Valdez.

What other street legal vehicle would NOT be stopped by a .50BMG?

As far as it breaking down...I was thinking about that. The engine didn't look like something you could take to just any mechanic...who would be able to work on these??

This was my worry too. My grandfather kept and worked on several old military refurb vehicles and they leak all over - especially these Ferrets.

I'm not a big handy man, so working on it myself is out of the question.

As an aside, any idea of the MPGs of these? Gas or diesel?
