"Tacti-cool" pistol grip Speedfeed style / Benelli style stock on a SEMI auto shotgun - legal or illegal ?

    I can't remember?

I know it's cool on a pump, but I can't remember what the deal was on a semi-auto shotgun.

Thinking like on an 1187 or something like that.

    Thanks -

Depends on the state and what else is on the weapon. It takes a combination of two or more of the prohibited accessories to make it an assault weapon. Check your state laws.

Legal or not it cannot be done on an 11-87. The main spring tube runs through the stock.

    Yes it can:

He's talking about a pistol grip stock, not a PGO (pistol grip only).

Not a pistol grip only but a shoulder stock with a pistol grip you can do made for an 11/87. Not sure what the OP is looking for.

How does a semi-auto compare recoil wise to a pump with the same load?

Let's say an 1187 vs 870 for example?

    Thanks -

Much less. I've been told the softest shooting shotgun is a Remington 1100/11-87 due to it's gas-operation. I find it quite a pleasure to shoot especially with the R3/Limbsaver recoil pad.

I've had three people in the past couple weeks wanting a PGO put on 1100/11-87s. No clue where this idea came from all of a sudden.

Yes a pistol grip stock will work.
