More shooting in that clip than an old Western.

I remember watching that in training back when I was young and ruggedly handsome. It was the first film I ever saw that was devoted entirely to officer survival. Nifty old film.

Nah...more like an average day on the job for Dragoon44.

  3. OMG, I saw that film when I was in the Police Academy in 1984. As vintage as it may be, most.....not all, but most of those concepts hold true today. I am saving that link to use as I teach at the academy.

The rolling shotgun thing is badass! Not sure I'd wanna try it against an active shooter but it looks fun.

I was just thinking that. We (officers) have gotten better but still die or get hurt from making the same mistakes over and over.

  6. Yeah, I did think that part was a bit Mel Gibson Lethal Weapon'ish

Buck Savage said it best "Watch the Hands!"

I believe it was released in 78. The book came out in 1980.

  9. Awesome video!

The only part I disagree with is reloading a semi-auto. Why run dry with a second mag in your hands (seemed to take longer) when during a lull behind cover do a tac reload instead?

Many of those segments were put in the classic book "Street Survival" as still photos.
    Great stuff even today.

  11. I thought that they looked familiar elsewhere. I have both editions of those books.

Motorola was huge in police training films in the 70's. Great info on tactics that stands the test of time. We can learn a lot from the Romans about sword and shield tactics, why not survival shooting from 1970's coppers?
