Hello, don't mean to barge in uninvited but....

i'm searching for source as to where i can purchase surplus (very cheap) firefighting equipment specifically boots and headgear.

i'm a volunteer firefighter in the Philippines, our definition of "volunteer" means we give our time without any compensation or allowances and have to buy our own equipment and also obligated to contribute funds for the upkeep and operations of the station. major equipments such as truck pumper and tankers are donated by other countries to us.

By the time our gear gets replaced, I don't know if you'd want to wear it.

Another place to try are the Firehouse forums, they are very active.

he he he, you don't know the quality of our gear.

most of our suit has faded NYFD emblazoned on the back (though very faded, and we printed over it)

how about stock overrun or "substandards"?
