Does anyone have any pics of their G21 with a stipple job?
Well I haven't done my 21 yet, just my 36. I have the Talon Grip on my 21 and it feels really good. Eventually I will stipple the 21, just don't know when.
I like the way stippling feels and it is permanent compared to the tape. I don't care for a lot of stippling, just where the fingers go across the front and where the palm makes contact on the back strap. If you stipple the sides of the grip it can be a bit rough on your skin if it touches it.
Someday when I figure out how to post pictures I will. I take the finger bumps off, round the front of the trigger guard. Undercut the trigger guard for my second finger and smooth all the edges. I then Glass bead blast the frame to give it a nice uniform satin finish to blend everything in.
I did just enough stippling to improve the texture while still being comfortable to carry. Between then & now I went over the left side stippling with 2000 grit sandpaper because it was way to rough against bare skin while carrying. I'm considering doing the areas between the finger grooves too.
that's a nice stippling job! Classy! You said you used some 2000 grit sandpaper to make it just a little bit less aggressive, couldn't, in theory, this be done to reduce the harshness of the RTF2 finish as well. The "clothes snagging" is an issue but living in S.FL that Grip option is a BIG + in places where hands may be wet or drenched in sweat in a "worst case scenario"
and... Do they make the 21SF in RTF2?
Thanks, just take it easy with the sandpaper on your rtf. I think there's a limited run of G21SF RTF's.
Just got done stippling my G19 Gen 4. Also, installed 3.5 connector, extended slide release, and glockworx titanium pins. Enjoy! BTW my first ever stippling job.
