As I stated in a previous post, I currently have a Trojan on order. Is there something else out there that you guys would recommend over the Trojan in the same price range? I do like the Colt Gold Cup, DK Smith, and several others...Your thoughts...

at 1k there is nothing else that i like. The SA Trophy Match and TRP, i like better but both carry a higher price tag. STI makes an awesome 1911 and is highly underrated

I'd say at $1k, for me at least, I would go with the STI Ranger2, but if you want a 5", the Trojan is hard to beat at that pricepoint.

Yeah, I've had my eye on the Trojan for a while. I just keep thinking about the S&W Doug Koenig, I can get it for $929....

Where are you seeing performance center DK's for $925. I thought they retailed upwards of 1500-1600.

Its not the PC model and it certainly isn't as nice as the Trojan.

    No.

The Trojan has my vote as the best 1911 in its price range for sure. :)

Mine is certainly the finest pistol I have ever shot. You can't go wrong with the Trojan.

I got it for $700 used in like new shape. :tongueout:

It was a hell of a deal, since it would have been $1300 new.

    Thanks.

Its a Trojan with the factory chrome finish and fiber optic front sight.

I love it and it was also one of the best deals I've ever gotten on a firearm. :wow:

I think it's as good as you can get for the price.

The Trojan's are great !! I have one in 9mm and my shooting buddy has the 9mm and a new 45 and all three shoot like a house on fire . We picked up the 45 on monday and went straight to the range and put 250rds thru it without a hiccup and it was shooting ragged holes !! You cant go wrong and the price is easy to live with for a quality 1911 .

    Go for the Trojan.
I have the Kimber and Springfield in a similar price range to the Trojan, I MUCH prefer the Trojan.

Ya Trojan all the way! If you were talking a PC smith over the STI it would be a different story, but i am not crazy about S&W 1911's otherwise.

I like Smith & Wesson's standard 1911 line, but they certainly aren't as nice as the Trojan.
