Hey everyone. Let me start by saying that the title to this thread is awful. I didn't know what to call it. I'll explain what I'm talking about. As someone new to concealed carry, I have been doing my research into the different permits available to me here in Virginia. Obviously there's the VA resident CHP. That's a given. I'm getting that one. Past that, there are the other states non-resident CCW/CHP/CWP/whatever they call it. It seems that the big two are Florida and Utah. Those get you the most states for your buck. I had been trying to figure out which one to get, or if I needed both, or if VA was going to cover me. What I did is, I put together a spreadsheet (nerd alert) that listed all of the states that those permits would allow me to carry in and compared them side-by-side. I figured out that, for me, I'm going to be set with the VA and the FL. I really don't need the 2 or 3 extra states that the Utah permit would allow me. I figued I would share this information, as there are probably others out there in a similar situation. Hopefully you guys find this as helpfull as I did. I thought it helped to be able to look at all three of them side by side to determine if it's worth the time and expense to get a permit that in reality is only going to add the ability to carry in Minnesota (for example)... Anyway, the file is attached. If you find it usefull, post and let me know. It's good for the ol' ego. Wanna kill these ads? We can help!
