Anybody have a commander length 1911 yet? I've been looking at them. This would be my first 1911. I know and love a full size 5" and know the difference, but would like to carry it daily. Any input would be appreciated.

I have one. Haven't shot it yet though since its not "officially" mine till 6/7-my birthday. Certainly looks and feels carryable. Feels pretty solid and weighs much less than my my 5" RO

I've rented a Springfield Armory micro compact at the LGS/range a couple of times. Mild recoil, comfortable and fun to shoot.

Check out the April issue of Shooting Illustrated. There is a good write up on the Ruger Commander SR1911. Looks like a lot of gun for the money.

I had one, traded for something else I wanted. Fine gun, no problems but not quite as accurate for me as a government model.
