I think the XDs 45 size is perfect for me! The G39 OD is in auction right now.... I have not shot the XDs yet, I will compare it to my G39 soon.

    It's pretty nice
Went to a shop today and they had a few. Was there to get a pocket holster for my Shield .40. They havn't been able to get a Shield yet, guess I was lucky to get mine. Uncle Mikes #3 fit's perfect. I may go back to pick one up, a few reasons I did not today.

I have a Kahr P45 and it's a great thin, 6+1, three finger grip IWB 45. I have the Shield .40 which is a great thin, 7+1, three finger grip IWB 40. I have the Shield 40 and it's a great 6+1 pocket 40. The XDS 45 is larger than the Shield 40. The 7 rd. mag for the XDS are supposed to be ridiculously long and as of yet can not be found. I have seven rd. mags for my P45. Sooo... may get it tommorrow anyway...

My LGS showed me the 7 round magazine and it is very long for my taste. Looks like a full size handle.

+1 for JoeBob. Got my extra 7-round mags within days. I don't use either collar/spacer for the longer magazines. They are for range use and backup ammo when carrying this firearm.

Same thing with the G39 I carry...I have a G37 magazine as backup.

    Congrats on the new XD-S!

I got a chance to fire two mags through an XDs last weekend....

    I equate it to this-

    DO NOT WANT! :faint:

Too much power in too small of a package. Your mileage may, and probably will vary.

    Cool little gun though.

They aren't supposed to be ridiculously long, they are ridiculously long. As far as finding them, I called Springfield and had them in a week.

I had been on a waiting list for a Shield 9mm for months with no idea how long it would take. Picked up an XDs and after putting a half box of rounds through it, cancelled the Shield. Great gun. Springfield Armory website now has the 7 round magazines with an adapter that matches the longer magazine with the grip. I ordered some and while they do make the grip better, the added length sort of defeats the purpose of the smaller frame for concealment. They will be great range magazines but for actual carry, I think I'll stick to the standard 5 round magazines.

Me either, I am sticking to the 5+1 mag.

Also, I find the larger backstrap has lesser play when I'm gripping the gun. When I change it to the smaller backstrap, it has an easier grip, but it tend to move around and keeps me readjusting the grip all the time....

I shot an XDS, mentioned it in a previous thread. Since I haven't seen the seven rd. mags yet, I used the same adjective a poster (I believe it was you) used. For me to have said (typed) the seven rd. mags are very long, too long for carry for use with a 3.3" tubed, 7+1 pistol of any width or caliber would have been misleading, if not untruthful. I appreciate the pics. I try to be helpful and to regurgitate hearsay or opinion as fact is the opposite of helpful IMO.

Another poster said Jim or Joe Bobs had them. I checked and they were in stock for $33 as I remember. Shield mags have eluded me thus far.

When I picked up my XDs the guy in the counter showed me the 7 round mag and basically opened it up and slid it in to my XDs and he let me held it. It is very long , i estimate it as the same handle height as the glock 19

I bought an XD's today. Went out and fired it expecting brutal recoil....:tongueout: boy was I surprised, very mild recoil for this size of gun.

It well soon be rotated into my main gun after I get 200 rounds through her.
