Both of those prices seem a little high.

    What is the intended purpose?

That's ballpark with what I've seen around here (pa).

I went with with a two tone RIA tactical. After I get 1k through it, I'll let you know. Right now, I like it a lot. It's not a Les / Kim / Col / Wil / Bro......but it will do. Using mine for carry, home, and fun.

I have a RIA tactical in Nickel.....I love this gun!! I paid 550.00 out the door with an extra wilson mag. Fit and finish is second to none, I miss my Colt, but would trust my life to this RIA anytime.....this is gonna replace my G31 as my daily carry.

Is it true that you can't upgrade the RIA GI sights ??

No, you can change the GI sights, I looked into it about 3yrs ago but never change it just bought the CS Tactical when it came out.

The RIA is definately a quality piece,I carry mine daily, when I change moods I carry my Springer Compact,to me they both shoot equally as well as each other. The up side of the Springer is an alloy frame,The RIA weighs in at 33 oz empty which makes it a little heavy but thats OK also.I think a person would do well with either brand, just my opinion.
