Trying to make a decision on a commander size 1911. Looking to spend under $1000. Looking at Springfield Commander Loaded Champion vs a Sig fastback carry. Any opinions or recommendations for me?

I have no experience with Sig, but I have that exact Springfield and its been outstanding, 100% reliable so far and way more accurate than I am.

I would vote neither. If you insist on new buy a STI Trojan, if not look for a used TRP or Valor.

Sig is out, looking at Colt XSE all stainless 4" vs Springer Loaded Champ all stainless 4".

  8. I have 3 Sig 1911's and they are fantastic. Great triggers, well made and very well priced.

Not many complaints at all on the new Sigs, maybe slide profile thats it. That fastback carry is a sexy looking gun. I love that bobtail.

If it ain't a Colt, it's a copy. You know what you gotta do, cowboy.

If the Brazilian guns were so good then they would have won the USMC Recon shootout.:dunno:

Last time I checked, it wasn't the 4" XSE stainless that won the contract. The guns that did win the contract didn't do so by performance. We've had this conversation before so I will save my breath.

So? Lengthen it and add a rail and it's the XSE Rail Gun.

Colt makes combat handguns. The rest makes for pretty guns. Don't hate, appreciate because the USMC does.

There was a post above recommending the Trojan. There is a lot of positive press in the quality, parts, reliability and customer service at STI. Based on what I'm looking for I really think the Ranger II is an excellent value vs the above.
