Seems we all have movies we have watched x12817 times, what about sporting events?

    For me:

Tiger's 1997 Master's and the last US Open he won
2008 Wimbledon Final: Fed v Nadal
    2004 ALCS games 4-7

    Anyone here got some favorites?

  2. I don't think I've heard of this before.

The 1980 Olympics Hockey Championship game, between the USA and the USSR. I wonder what happened to the Soviet hockey team, when they got home to their workers' paradise? Eric

  4. Game 6 of the 1986 Celtics/Rockets NBA championship series at the old Garden. Larry Bird and Bill Walton drain back to back jumpers... the house was rockin', the bench was celebrating. Ahh, the good ole days.

This... and if memory serves me it was a semi-final. The US still had to beat someone, I can't remember who, for the Gold Medal...

ETA: and any of Nebraska's National Championship Bowl Games.. The Florida one is still my favorite...

Any Sabres game that they win, and seeing how infrequently that happens I still cheer for every goal.

There are innumerable classic MMA fights that I can revisit.

Great KO's, awesome submissions, and brutal wars.

It was on ESPN or something a few years ago... My daughter was talking or something...asking me why I was watching it... I paused it, told her the significance of it, and she quieted it down and we watched it together... I don't know if she remembers the event or not.. but I will remember sitting there with her watching the replay forever...

    This.

A bunch of amateur American kids going up against the "invincible" professional hockey players of the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War. Given the timing and context of the game, it was arguably the greatest American sports moment of the 20th Century.

Yes it was. I didn't get to see it live... I did the 1996 Nebraska/Florida game... that may be why it's still my favorite...Plus you gotta love the dumbfounded look on Spurrier's face...

Loyola Marymounts run to the elite 8 in 1990. Specifically Bo Kimbles left handed free throws in honor of Hank Gathers.

Duke vs Kentucky in 1992, greatest college basketball game ever played.

Bill Johnsons Gold Medal run (after predicting he would win the gold medal) at the Sarajevo Olympics.

    Any races involving Aryton Senna.

    1984 Orange Bowl.

Miami defeated Nebraska (who were 10.5 point favorites) in what a number of sportswriters call the greatest college football game ever played. It's definitely the best I've ever seen.

Tiger and Rocco dueling through the 2008 US Open. Rocco played without fear and Tiger played on what was essentially a broken leg. Both made shot after shot, and putt after putt, Rocco finally succumbing to Tiger's incredible will to win on the 91st hole.

Definitely the 2008 Men's Wimbledon. Federer vs. Nadal.

2001 US Open Quarterfinal. Sampras def. Agassi 6-7(7), 7-6(2), 7-6(2), 7-6(5); throughout the match, no player managed to break service.

Florida didn't belong in that game. They were like boys among men.
