Some unfortunate news

Discussion in '1911 Forums' started by EricandSuebee, Jun 17, 2012.

  1. Well I have to sell my 1911 Wiley Clapp :( need to pay some medical bills that were not covered by insurance, so someone is going to get a nice deal on a unfired gun. Has anyone else got a gun to only sell it so soon afterwards?

Hate to hear that. I hope things get better for you very soon. Good luck with selling your gun and I hope you get every penney that you deserve for it.

Ah well, easy comes, easy goes.

There's always going to be another toy available later on.

sorry about the news, but i commend you on actually sacrificing something to actually pay a medical bill. it seems a lot of people these days would just not pay the bill.

I had to sell a few guns last year, so I know how you feel. :crying: Fortunately they weren't my 1911s, but it still stung.

I know that you don't want to hear it, but I wouldn't pay that much for a used gun (albeit a very slightly used gun). For that price I can get a brand stankin' new one.

You can try posting up that price and negotiate down to where you're willing to let it go at.

Been there and done that. Getting old isn't fun at all especially when they lie to you and tell you it's 1/2 of what the bill really is.

Sorry to hear of the medical woes.......the pistol can always be replaced later

  11. I decided to just keep it, no sense in taking a loss to only go out and buy it again down the road :)

Yeah, work out a payment plan for the medical bill. Most will gladly work with you on that. They'd rather do that then have to pay a collection agency to go after you!

  14. Now here is the best thing I heard today, they called me up and said it was our mistake your insurance company is covering ALL of it. Those bastards almost made me sell my gun, boy would I have been pissed to sell it and find out I didn't need to!

Being the owner of one of those fine WC Ccommanders myself I am very pleased that you were able to keep yours.

I hope that all goes well for you medically as well.
