    I installed this software called Motiondv Studio for my Panasonic camcorder. The problem is that my computer is not reconizing when the camcorder is pluged into the usb port. How can I fix this. Thanks for the input.

  2. The system does not recognize a digital video device.

    Check your connection process.

    1. Start your PC.
    2. Connect your digital video device to your PC with a DV cable.
    3. Turn on the digital video device.
    4. Start "MotionDV STUDIO."

    Check if your imaging device is shown after selecting as follows:
    [My Computer]-[Control Panel]-[System]-[Device Manager]
    <If shown>

    * Check your connection process.
    * Uninstall and reinstall "MotionDV STUDIO."

    <If not shown>

    * Check your connection process.
    * Check if [IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers] is shown in the Device Manager window. If it is not shown, "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" is required to be recognized.
    .Please inquire about its recognition to your PC or card maker.

    Check if the connected digital video device works properly
    (if any error is shown, if it works properly in isolation, etc.).
    Restart your PC.

    I think the capture port for most, if not all, DV camcorder is Firewire and not USB. I could be wrong though. Check your manual.
