Well, crap. I just posted in the old thread before realizing there was a new one. ...

I just got an Osprey Aether 85.

Once I get it in, I'm going to take it to REI and test it with weight to make sure it fits right. If it doesn't, I'm going to get a Deuter Aircontact 75+10.

I want it big enough I can go for a week in the backcountry without needing resupply.

I did a week in the smokies, no resupply, with a 55L pack (old Outdoor Products one, lol) back when I was in between middle and high school. My first trip, overpacked, and packed a lot of the wrong stuff. Since then, though, and since my knee got all jacked up, I try to keep my packs as light as I can get them and still be comfortable when I get to camp, you know? I'm tempted to ditch the tent, and get a pair of sil-nylon tarps, and just pack those and some rope for warm-weather excursions. Or just a Jungle Hammock. My two biggest wants, though, are a lighter-weight, smaller-packing sleeping bag, and a 45-liter or so pack. I'm thinking of the North Face Terra 45; my sister has the female version, and I like the way the organization is set up on it. I have looked at that Osprey pack on Moosejaw, though; it seems like they had it on sale or clearance not that long ago.

I wish I was still 30. Today is my wife and I's anniversary. Been married 15 years now. Doesn't seem like it's been that long since I was imprisoned.

The freaky music wasn't necessary... and as long as those stupid things are tethered to the roof and indoors... I'll just make sure I stay out of those buildings. Then I'll nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to make sure.
