    How bad is this?

    How common is this?

I'm going to replace it anyway, but was just curious if there was anything I did to cause the finish to come off.

You wouldn't happen to clean it with some thing like Hoppes # 9,a copper solvent could remove plating. More than likely just plain old wear,R&R. SJ 40

    It's harmless. Don't worry....go shoot! :)

Next time yer at a GSSF match, let the factory armorer replace it.

If you are still worried...just put a new one in, they are cheap. I have had several that did this, while others seem to never wear...source?

Can't imagine this being a problem, but I am sure Glock would send you another pin, probably for free.

Contact them, include a pic and let them do what they do

It's just normal wear I bet. Now that I am in the multi thousands range through both my Glocks I've found that some parts wear differently gun to gun. I have one G19 that has almost 3k through it and has no wear on the safety plunger, but my other G19 has significant wear within 500 rounds. I replaced it when it got some roughness to it. I'm not much for polishing :)

I wouldn't worry about it unless some other problem was detected.

Just cosmetics. I have that wear on most of mine and it doesn't hurt anything.

I had one of these do this before for years, still went bang everytime, just like a Glock. :)

No need to replace it at all...it's just finish and doesn't effect function one single bit. Let the 1911 crowd worry about finish wear and cleaning every 100 rounds.
