Thing you have to realize is most folks are unobservant. Criminals do look over situation and can decide NOT to act right now.
While its true some have walked infront of marked squad car, past uniformed Officers, and announced "this is a stick up" Most have learned (due to catch and release) to see who/what is present before they take action.
I had one team that decided NOT to take action in "stop and rob" I was in @5:30 one evening. I recall because I went on duty at 6pm. @ 6:30 I get call of them robbing some students. By 6:45 I got them a ride in a real squad car to a real jail. :) It took me longer to do reports.

LIsten to you instincts. Not kids who live in mom's basement. If they honestly were selling gold at 2am (didn't you say early morning) you didn't prevent them. You just considered if they were up to no good.

Thanks, that's pretty much how I felt about it. If there really was no ill intent, then nothing bad happened. If there was, then I'm glad I could make a difference. I'm of the opinion that it can't hurt to be observant. If you see something that looks off, keep your eyes on it and be ready for trouble because it's much better to have a false alarm than to be blindsided. I'm really glad it didn't come down to having to draw.

And yes the EAA Windicator is a decent backup gun for me. It's a bit too big and heavy for most people to use as a pocket gun, but I happen to have big pockets. When you can't afford a Smith or even an LCR, some gun is better than no gun.

Also seriously guys if I was making a mall ninja post I would make a much better one than that. Stick to eggs left out overnight, and old ladies who take exception to washing jetskis.

Maybe they were there to buy condoms but chickened out because you kept leering at them. Because of you they went on to have unprotected sex and conceived an illegitimate child. Congratulations, I hope you feel better about one more welfare baby that you caused. ;P

I was hoping this would end in "you're moving with your auntie and uncle to Bel-Air"

    Disappointed

Glocktalk is the harshest environment on the web...

It's like everyone just sits and waits to rip on someone as soon as they get the opportunity! Lol

I tried to sell some gold the other night to pay off student loans, but some dude kept giving me the eye and grabbing his piece.

I guess my girlfriend will have to keep stripping.

But seriously, it sounds like those cats were up to no good. You were right to be wary.

I think this more often than not when people approach me trying to sell something. Think about it, someone walks up to you to sell something, you're looking at the item, discussing price, you pull out your wallet, and you're looking in your wallet to get money, eyes are not on the seller. He can easily snatch your wallet out of your hands, or clock you upside the head, and steal your wallet.
