    I'm about to pull the trigger on a Weber Smokey Mountain:

    Seems like all the internet reviews are very positive and even though it is twice the usual bullet smoker, seems like it is very worth it.

    So, does anyone have a strong objection to this type of smoker or recommend another brand? The "Big Green Egg" is a bit out of my price range ATM though ;)

    Any good smoker tips or recipies? Already anticipating my first set of ribs and chicken :)

    I have owned this smoker for several years now. (Been a Weber grill fan for over 30 years)

    Anyway, it is very well made and easy to use. My only recommendation is that you MUST use a meat thermometer and monitor your meat closely, while smoking.

    I have had problems, over cooking meat with this smoker, so beware, it may not take as long to cook/smoke your meet as the recipe book advises.
