Ok...so I've been using Hoppes #9 for a while now, and I've had good results with it. The guns I've used it on are as follows: Springfield EMP Springfield XD9 GSG 1911 .22 Ruger Mk II Marlin 795 Now, with that said, I decided to try some grease on my EMP, mainly because I felt the oil was burning off pretty fast, and there seems to be a lot of recommendations about Slide Glide. I am also awaiting a CCW permit, and I did NOT want to carry the EMP with oil. While I don't have the vast knowledge of others on this forum, I can say that after using Slide Glide on the EMP (only one yet), it definitely feels better during the hand-cycling. I haven't had the chance to shoot it with the SG on it yet, but I've read that the grease stays on a lot longer than oil. So bottom line is, I'm impressed so far. Super slick and extremely easy to apply. I'm using SG Lite because here in Ohio, it's ~10-30 degrees right now during the winter, and also the Lite is recommended for carry use. I can see why people recommend this product, and I look forward to using it.
