I plan on attending my first GSSF match this October and was wondering if I should take a single or double magazine pouch? I plan on ordering one to match my Comptac holster. I am a complete newbie to this so, thanks in advance for your help.

None of the above.....you prep at the line when the RO signals you. Check out www.gssfonline.com for complete rules.

You need neither a holster nor a mag carrier for GSSF. There is no drawing from a holster and no speed reloads. Buy extra magazines instead. I carry at least 10 loaded mags per entry for an outdoor match, and 6 for an indoor match.

Being that at least 3 out of the 4 responses to your question are from regular GSSF shooters and posters on the GSSF forum, you should probably go there for GSSF questions:

Mag pouches are nice, when needed such as IDPA/USPSA.

In GSSF, you need FOUR magazines to shoot the plate racks, so you'd need two doubles there. But, as has already been said... you don't draw from a holster or reload on the clock, so just setting your mags on the table/barrel (often a plastic 50 gal drum) will suffice just fine. I've shot 18 or so GSSF matches, don't use holster or pouches.
