Can anyone recommend the best place/lowest price for a Sig SP2022? The best I have seen new is TopGunSupply at $405 shipped. I would not be adverse to a used one in good condition. Please email me at ashecht@carolina.rr.com

  2. Academy Sports and Outdoors (TX) has been selling them for 399.00 for the last month or so.

security arms lists a price of 345 which is outstanding, but I dont think thats current anymore, not sure if they are open today(sunday) to check on it. No Academy sports here in NC, besides at 399 plus tax, I could buy it at my lgs. Buds has some good prices, but they all show out of stock so I need to call them as well. Any opinions on the SP2022? It felt great in my hands when I held it at my lgs. Looks like I sold my Bersa, so I could be purchasing the sig within the next month or so.

  4. I bought mine a couple of months ago. I'm fairly familiar with a wide range of pistols-was a little dubious as to the 2022-thinking that it was a cheap knock off (I have an older 229 in 357 SIG-one of my favorites). Read up about some of the earlier models having trouble--the purely American made ones (no German frames, Exeter imports, finishes, etc), German and American mix, but most of that drama seems to be years ago (apparently SIG or the American importer was trying to save some money, did different things). I have put about 400 rounds through it so far-and am very impressed and pleased (9mm), shoots very well, handles very Sig like, accurate and a joy to shoot. Have not tried a bunch of different types of bullets yet-was very surprised to see all I had was FMJ. If you decide to get it, I doubt if you will be displeased-won't be a frequent carry piece (it's a full size pistol), but I wouldn't hesitate to throw it in the truck and depend upon it.
