Discussion in '1911 Forums' started by 3000fps, Jan 29, 2012.

  1. Does anyone have any experience with the Sig 1911's?

    Are they accurate / reliable?

    thank you :)

I shot the TTT model. Seems to be well made, nice & crisp trigger, but I can't get over the rectangular look of the slide.

Have a 1st Gen GSR that is the pride of my Sig collection. Been 100%.
Can't wait to get my hands on one of the new nightmares in .357 sig though.

    Somewhere in the air.
I have a first generation Sig GSR 1911 in Nitron Black that is essentially a gun that Sig built on a Caspian frame that is an assemblage of the finest parts available from quality vendors.

It is an excellent 1911 that has functioned 100% reliably. The creep free, breaks like glass, 4 pound trigger makes the gun perfect for carry (I've had Sig's trigger and action enhancement packages performed on the gun). It is the pistol I carry if I want to pack a full-size 1911.

It is also a pistol that I would never sell.

I've had many 1911's, none past the $1200 range though can't justify it yet, and picked up a sig nitron with the tac pac...the most accurate 1911 I've shot yet.
I broke it in at a training class and put 1200 rounds thru it in 3 days and it functioned great! Great shooter!!!

I have a SS rail model and like others said it is scary accurate and have not had any problems, really want to get a tac ops.

  8. I was considering purchasing either a fullsize GSR, Scorpion Carry, or (lol) a RIA 1911 and upgrading some parts. Don't know if I want a pretty gun or a gun I won't care about scratching :) Thanks!

I kinda like the Sig 1911 styling. Not sure about it's effect on holster though. It seems like Sig 1911s have a very solid reputation overall.

  11. It seems the early production and recent versions have been the most reliable.

  12. I have a Tacops TB and am very pleased with it.

I do like the Tac Ops and the Scorpion. And I don't even really like railed 1911's. :)
