I am getting the urge to get a sig 220. Which one would you suggest I get. I unfortunately I will have to sell my Glock 35 to do so. I will not have the money to buy a new sig, so I will be in the used market.
anyway just your thoughts on the sig 220.
    thanks

I like the P220 is its original spec, which is 9mm with the heel mag release.

That non-rail one you pointed out on GB is nice!

I have an LE-trade in that just had a normal amount of holster wear, but looked like it had barely been shot. I swapped out some older components with a P220 parts kit, installed some new sights, and was good to go!

I really depends on how you intend to use the handgun. If you plan on carrying, consider the P220 Carry or Compact. Either way, go out and shoot some P220s, you'll know when you've found the right one. Used market is preferable in my opinion. Look for a mid 90's or earlier West German SIG.

I like the older Sig P220s and I prefer the non-railed ones.Anyhow I ended up getting this one a few months back, the two tone look is nice.Still has rail but was too cheap to let it pass by.

The Sig P220 is my favorite pistol..... I edc the Carry version every day. Like it so much I own 2 of them.....one with an accessory rail and the other a Gen 2 SAS (Sig Anti Snag). You probably need to do a little research on the different models and trigger types. You can find the P220 in single action, but most come from the factory in double/single action. You may want to take a look at Bud's Gun Shop....I read over on the Sig web site that they have new Sig P220's in single action for $600.....

I have a stainless elite and i'm very happy with it. A little heavy but it handles so good.

I love the P220. I have a 2010 P220R that has been a great pistol, very reliable and very easy to score hits with.

I also really like the German Sigs with the carbon steel slides and internal extractor as they are very good looking. However, I do think the newer stainless slides with the external extractor are an improvement.

I would go with either the standard DA/SA or SAO version, its a tough choice between the two.

Here is mine, she has been a great little pistol:

  9. Can't go wrong with a P220. Bought one about two months ago. It was a police trade-in, a little bit of wear but overall in pretty good shape. $470, can't complain. Put a couple hundred rounds through it without any issue.

The P220 in .45acp is the only other .45 I'd carry if my 1911 went down. Get an older non-railed one.

I am not convinced that there are any P220s that really are bad. I do like the stainless ones. IMG_0482a.jpg

My Sig 220 is accurate and reliable, but I prefer a commander sized 1911, slimmer, and has a consistent trigger pull and safety.

    Here's my German P220.

When I bought it new 7 years ago, I liked the two-tone look. Today, I could do without it, but it remains an excellent pistol.
