I've got a chance to pick up a USP 40c that shows manufactured in 2003.
(The USP Compact has been the gun I've wanted for a long time, but just couldn't afford the 900.00 to buy it.)
The gun is in good condition, with normal wear along the slide from holstering/use.
It comes with night sights that I am pretty sure are dead. They are the factory night sights, so also 10 years old.
It comes with the box, manual, but only 2 10 round magazines. My state allows me to have to full 12 rounders.

    the price is 550.00
(new is 860.00 at the shop)

should I stop debating and just lay down the cash for it?

    I currently have a Glock 19 Gen 4.

I have heard that the USP 40c being heavier handle the snappy recoil from the .40 better than a Glock 23.

Thank you in advance for the advice!

Use the mags and dim sights as a bargaining tool. Offer 500 and see what they say. If they won't budge, no problem. 550 is a great price. see what they say and show us some range pics when you get it.

    bought it.

brought it home and cleaned it.

now waiting for my 19 to come back from Glock before I go back to the range.

I did pick up some .40 FMJ for target shooting. So I have 100 rounds to test it out.

did they budge on the price or did you chicken out and pay what they asked?

just joking. what trigger variant does it have? is it da/sa with safety and decocker? or lem, similar to dao?

Before the latest push by the gun-grabbing politicians, a used USP 40 compact, in excellent condition, private party sale, was going for $500-550, in the Seattle area, with the box and spare mag. At a retail store it was $100 plus, more expensive.

I think that $550 is a reasonable, or better, price

For me, last year high. Now not bad.

Throw out the $500. See what happens. Prob. all I would pay for it but I have one already...

With dead sights and 10 rounders I would only offer $500 and see.

    Sorry for the delay.

    I got it for 525.00

It's home now, and cleaned and oiled.

Now to take it shooting. Probably going to wait til I get my 19 back from Glock.

Going to shoot them side by side for comparison sake. But I think the USP feels better in my hand, weight and all.

The Box says V1. I don't know if it's been modified beyond that though. It seems to be a V1 but I am no expert.

As you can see, there is some holster wear... no actual damage. Doesn't look like a beater pistol.

Can't wait to shoot it. I want to wait until my Glock 19 comes back before hitting the range though.

I almost want to refinish the slide and barrel so it looks brand new... but I can't decide.

Great looking Compact. AD date code shows a "born on date" of 2003.
