Looking at gettting a 870 that I can then SBR. I really like the MCS, but a bit expensive.
I want to have a traditional setup, but then convert to the SBS, How short can you make a 870 without reliability issues ?

Since Remington sells an 12.5" barrel I would say 12.5. Besides, you can't go past the barrel ring so 12.5" is it. And yes, people you can go 11" on the MCS but as the guy said they are to expensive.

So if I get a 870 police, once the NFA stuff is one, I can swap out a 12.5 barrel without anymodification. That would work great for me. Maybe even a pistil grip for show only too

Jump through the ATF hoops, make sure your state allows them and then, yes for an SBS. But no for an AOW.

Others here know these laws better then I an should post in on this.
