Holy crap, small world. I was one of the guys who beat the crap out of your butt with a shillelagh on the Oki Boat. Patty Beach, Thailand was our last stop before returning to Yoko in September 1977. Please check your PM shipmate.

Hey Ed, me too. I was in VAQ-131. I seem to recall a lot of time doing nothing that cruise.

Also got my blue nose (arctic circle) on the FID.

You don't happen to recall that UFO incident we had in the IO do you? I remember I was mess cooking at the time and just took some trash out to the fantail. It was late at night. The fantail was packed with folks checking out this light that seemed to be hovering just behind us and up about a hundred feet. Looked like a big spot light. If I had to make a guess, less than 50' across. No noise we could hear. After about 10 minutes it zigged and zagged it's way out of sight at an incredible speed. There is NO WAY it was anything made on this planet. ;P I still have not seen anything that was as fast and could turn that fast. I had a friend in 131. I believe his name was Mark. A YNSN.

Now that you mention it I think I do. Had forgotten all about it. (sucks getting old)
Remember 4th of July (or was it new years) when they brought up a bunch of weapons and lit off tracers that night? Fireworks!! The .50s were very cool.

How about the great visit to Karachi Pakistan?.. ;g

I worked the flight deck most of that cruise. My son was born while we were in the IO. Ex-wife never did forgive me for not comming home. Tough to do in those days.
