Does anyone have any experiences with Dave Severns? I'm looking to get some feedback and an idea of where he is in the gunsmithing echelon.

Looking for a smith to do high power cuts, thick egw bushing and a crown, serrate rear of slide and sight, gold bead front, and maybe a chen magwell.

Good guy, very nice, and very knowledgeable.

I have seen several examples of his work, all were excellent. I have never heard one bad thing about his work.

Same here. He does great work and everyone speaks very highly of him. I have emailed back and forth with him a few times and he is a great guy. I would not hesitate to send him a gun for some work.

Dave does ALL of my customization and pistol work. Not only is he a great smith, he's a GREAT guy as well. Even if he is Navy. :whistling:
I know there are many good smiths out there, and I mean to take nothing at all away from them.
I wish I had pics of my Beastbob that he adapted for me, but alas, I don't. Yet.
Bottom line, if you want it done, he can do it and do it well. From the simple to building you a total custom from the ground up.
Like I tell everyone, tell him Sarge sent you and he may raise the price a few buck for you. :dunno::rofl:

I have been to his shop as I can almost throw a rock and hit it. He is a good dude and does good work. If I could stop pussing out, I would have him do me up a heater.

Only if they don't use the word "squid" when describing him. :tongueout: We feel the need to give each other a hard time about how the other one joined the wrong service, but it's all in good nature. He's a fellow warrior and I'd be proud to fight next to him any day.

    stand up guy.
never had any work done by him but hes given me quite a bit of free advice over the phone to get my RZ-10 running correctly.

id never ask a smith for that kind of treatment. he just offered.

ive got a dose of hard hat in the back of my mind for my monolith....
