Anyone who does not realize the threat to the 2nd amendment that an Obama second term would present is a FOOL. He will have 1 to 3 supreme court appointments. Then he will be able to rule by decree with the assurance that the supreme court will uphold his decrees. What would a Holder supreme court do? Fast and furious was a plan to set up the country for more gun control. Why has he said nothing about gun control during his first term. Does anyone think he has suddenly become a 2nd amendment supporter? Gun control is only one of many perils to liberty a second term would present.
    Wake up America.

    He would probably appoint Holder.

Or, more crooks from Chicago politics.

Amen bro - we can't let him win a second term. Anyone who thinks the Clinton assault weapons ban was bad, wait till Barack Hussein gets done. Just like he mentioned to the PM of Russia, he'll have more latitude in a second term. He hasn't gone after gun rights yet because it's not politically popular, but give him a second term and he'll be on it like a secret service agent on a Columbian hooker.

Since Ike, presidential second terms are LESS effective ideologically than the first terms. A president who is precluded from re-election loses a bunch whatever clout he has left over from his first term.

Based on age of justices, the next TWO justices Obama may appoint will probably not shift the Supreme Court balance; he would replace two of the minority "left-wing" justices with new left-wing justices. Only if the tally hits THREE appointments would the balance change radically. A judge dying prematurely would shift this scenario, but then, life IS a casino in which the odds are important.

The November election result is a matter for CONCERN, but not yet ALARM.

Four US Supreme Court Justices are now well over the age of 70 and three of them will be over the age of 80 by the end of Obama's second term. He could likely appoint 4 more Justices if he is re-elected. An anti-gun Court would be free to re-define and dismantle the RKBA out of existence. The current anti-gun Justices have already stated their intention to do exactly that.

In addition, since taking office, Obama has appointed 125 anti-RKBA liberals to federal judgeships, including 25 to appellate courts. At present, there are 86 vacancies on district and appellate courts, 39 of which already have pending nominees before the Senate.

I think we would be much better off replacing the SC seats with conservative justices than more liberal ones and increase the conservative majority.

In general I would agree about second term POTUS, but IMHO this country has not yet seen a president with a liberal agenda as extreme as BO. I do agree that the conservative justices on the SC would probably stick around another four years as they clearly know what BO would do when it comes to their replacements. But I truly do think he would do everything in his power to, at a minimum, get an assault weapons ban re-instituted. Keep in mind that BO is a straight up Chicago thug politician. We've seen that with the multiple "czars" he's appointed in order to work around having to go through Congress, and those czars are held accountable by no one other than Barack. Also, I think there's more to the "Fast and Furious" that hasn't yet been disclosed. Out of the X,000 guns they had with straw buyers, reports are that an absurdly low number of them had tracking devices. It's not too far of a jump to think that the BO regime was going to try and turn that into a gun control issue, saying that U.S. gun laws, as currently interpreted by the Courts, are contributing to Mexican drug gang violence. As always, just my $.0.02.

    The ban is coming.

Hell will freeze over before I believe that he won't at least try it weather he's successful or not.

    He certainly will try.

My feeling is that he will try and stack the supreme court. He may even try and get some U.N. gun ban treaty enacted as an end-around the constitution.

He absolutely will try. No doubt about it.

If he is re-elected, he threatens a lot MORE than just the 2nd amendment :whistling:
